Matthew 26:6-13; Mark 14:3-9; and John 12:1-8
Being misunderstood hurts, and criticism is always destructive, especially when it comes from unexpected places, unexpected people, and in unexpected ways. As we continue our series, Cheryl Brodersen reminds us of the importance of keeping our eyes on Jesus in the midst of criticism, just as Mary of Bethany did as the disciples reprimanded her worship. We see how Jesus authorized, explained, defended, and commended Mary’s worship. Criticism is inevitable, yet Jesus is honored by our vulnerability and humility as we serve Him.
